The Fostering Network Wales is calling on foster carers to share their views on education.

There is clear evidence that looked after children do not always fulfil their potential in terms of educational achievement, and we believe that foster carers are in a good position to provide real insight and experience into what might be done to address this.

The purpose of this questionnaire and subsequent report is to identify three things:

• What foster carers in Wales need, to enable the young people in their care to progress with their education;
• What practical action needs to be taken;
• How foster carers can contribute to achieving the outcomes of improved ambition and educational outcomes for looked after children.

This consultation has been requested by Welsh Government to inform their new overall Education Strategy.
