Nominations open for Fostering Excellence Awards
The Fostering Network is calling on you to nominate people who have made an outstanding contribution to foster care in the last year as we prepare for the second annual Fostering Excellence Awards.
Our awards are the leading awards for all those involved in or supporting foster care in the UK. They recognise and celebrate outstanding achievement in fostering.
The inaugural awards took place in 2014 and were a huge success, with over 300 nominations and many inspiring stories about fostering. Now in their second year, the awards will be bigger than ever with the introduction of three new awards.
Kevin Williams, chief executive of The Fostering Network, said: “We know that everyone involved in fostering is special and does something amazing every day, but we are looking for those children, young people, foster carers and social workers who have exceeded expectations or gone the extra mile.
“Last year we were privileged enough to welcome many great people to our awards ceremony, and we’re excited to do the same again this year. Nominate someone who you believe has made a difference to fostering today!”
There are three award categories, two of which will be awarded based on nominations, and one which will be awarded by The Fostering Network.
The Fostering Achievement Category will recognise the achievements of young who have been fostered.
The Outstanding Contribution to Foster Care Category will recognise the contributions made by foster carers, sons and daughters of foster carers and social workers.
The Fostering Supporters Category will recognise those people who have gone the extra mile in supporting foster carers, and The Fostering Network. This category will be awarded by The Fostering Network.
You can find out more about each award on our website.
Nominations are open now and will close on Friday 21 August 2015.
