The Fostering Network is delighted that one of our ground breaking programmes of work with children and foster carers has been nominated for two Children and Young People Now awards.

London Fostering Achievement is focused on raising the aspirations and educational outcomes of fostered children in London. The programme recognises the crucial roles played by foster carers and schools and brings them together with social workers to take part in training workshops, masterclasses and much more.

The programme is delivered by The Fostering Network in partnership with Achievement for All, and it is part of the Mayor’s London Schools Excellence Fund, funded by the Department for Education and the Greater London Authority.​

It has been nominated for The Learning Award and The Children in Care Award, and the winners of these two awards, amongst many others, will be announced in November.

Dr Lucy Peake, director of development at The Fostering Network, said: "London Fostering Achievement has provided training to over 1,600 foster carers, teachers and social workers across London. We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for these two awards. It is a real testament to the team and also to our foster carer education champions and young ambassadors who continue to shape and deliver the programme with us. 

"Education is key to the futures of children living with foster carers, and so we’re delighted that this flagship programme of work has been marked out in this manner."
