This course will support foster carers who are parenting traumatised children and the practitioners that support them.
This course will focus on how children’s experiences impact their responses to parenting as well as their emotional and behavioural needs. There is a focus on empathetic and reparative parenting, through support and guidance. This training compliments our Therapeutic Play course.
Aims and objectives:
During the training participants will:
- Learn more about the impact of early adversity on brain development
- Understand attachment and child development in the context of traumatic childhood experiences
- Identify techniques for building secure attachments with traumatised children
- Explore a range of practical strategies to support traumatised children through daily life.
