Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children

 

This course offers foster carers, teachers, and social workers an overview of the key issues facing unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and young people. It covers the unique challenges these young people encounter as they navigate new environments. Through this training, participants will learn strategies to better support and advocate for them.

Allegations and Complaints

 

This course examines the complexities associated with allegations and complaints against foster carers, in particular the need to balance support for foster families with the questioning and analysis required of an investigation. It is intended to equip foster carers, and others with related roles, with the knowledge and understanding to minimise the risk of allegations and complaints, and contribute to an investigation should this happen.

This course is to provide childcare practitioners with an understanding of the framework and legislation which can lead to young people coming into the care of the local authority.

Aims and objectives:

  • Participants will be able to evidence why they are progressing a particular care planning route.

  • Participants will be able to effectively demonstrate the outcomes for children and young people
